Bulk Trash
The city of Dallas began fining homeowners for leaving bulk
trash out too early last year and fining continues. Several of
our homeowners have been issued fines for these violations.
Please remember that bulk trash can go out the Thursday prior to
the first Monday of the month. If trash is out any earlier you
could be subject to getting a fine. Although most of the
landscaping companies working our area are aware of this, simple
reminders might be useful.
City Zoning Update
(Article Copied From North Dallas Neighborhood Alliance
Publication) – The City of Dallas is proposing changes to the
development code (which sets zoning rules) to encourage
developers to use a different kind of zoning (called form-based)
for their projects rather than the current kind (which is
use-based) zoning. During this past year, a committee of
neighborhood representatives and developers (appointed by City
Council) met to forge a compromise on their differing views of
these development code amendments. The committee members came to
unanimous agreement on the major points and this compromise was
presented to the City Plan Commission which also signed off on
the compromise unanimously.
A special Council committee is looking at the recommendations
of staff versus those from Plan Commission. To get further
information on these issues or to register an opinion, please
contact your Councilmember or the Dallas City Manager.
