Some of the past accomplishments of the HOA have directly affected the quality of life in our neighborhood and those in our immediate vicinity. The flow of traffic through our area was significantly reduced by preventing traffic extensions. We have a close working relationship with the Dallas police that has helped us keep crime lower and allowed us to get additional help when needed.

Some important achievements of the HOA:

• Mapleshade was not extended to Preston Road and Campbell Road was not extended to highway 190.
• We successfully negotiated several changes to the plans for highway 190 to reduce noise, limit access to our neighborhood and control billboards.
• We persuaded the developer of Whispering Springs to save the oldest stand of Pecan Trees in North Texas. They were considering chopping them down.
• In 2005 we assisted the police in apprehending the burglar who is believed responsible for many thefts in our area over the 2002-2005 period.
• We now have an active Volunteers In Patrol program that is helping to reduce crime by making our neighborhood less attractive for criminals.
